The latest update to the website is the addition of Guiding magazines from both World War 1, and World War 2.
During World War 1, the Girl Guides Gazette gave details of Guide war work, and the syllabus of the War Service Badge, and of the Cornwell award. This era also saw the introduction of Rosebuds/Brownies, Cadets, and Senior Guides/Rangers.
The WW2 magazines cover the build-up to war, the outbreak, changes to badge syllabuses, Guide war work, uniform changes and shortages, and what international news was available. They also give details of the fundraising for the Baden-Powell Memorial Fund and the Guide International Service, and details of the GIS training. The detail is fascinating, and will be helpful for researchers.
As well as the magazines themselves, some issues include price lists, which give helpful information on badges and equipment available (and, especially during WW2, not available), which also offers useful reference.
